In July 2015, Maciej Adam Marzec, a newly graduated philologist, crosses the German border – equipped by his mother with a backpack full of ibuprofen and a Polylux. In order to start a new life, he is fightinh his way through thick fog in the border area until he suddenly recognizes the outline of a woman. She is wearing the embroidered traditional costume of the Krakow region. “Guten Tag.” Maciek is confused. “Co jest, kurwa, grane?” Who is this? The performance cuts across notions of what it means to be Polish.
